It's Relationship to Details of the gifted, HPI / THPI: Advantage or Disadvantage?
They spot what is off, what is wrong, or even the tiniest detail in the environment.
It’s not that they’re mean. It’s not that they criticize everything. It’s not that they’re never satisfied. It’s not that they want to stir things up for fun. It’s not that they want to stop you from being a hero. It’s not that they overthink things. It’s not because they’re envious or annoyed by your boasting.
It’s not that they secretly resent you.
It’s not that they want to devalue you.
In reality, you probably don’t even exist in their reflective equation or internal compilation.
And yet, you make sure that it revolves around you. That it’s about you.
But it’s neither about you nor against you.
In front of your car, they point out that little scratch you hadn’t noticed.
They immediately detect a flaw in the finish of your new wooden coffee table.
In a meeting or at the coffee machine, they spot an inconsistency or a small error in a graph or speech.
And the same goes for situations, interactions, or relationships.
Sometimes, they remain silent because they’ve learned that it might be perceived negatively. But it’s taxing, so often, or over time, it comes out naturally.
They point something out. Period. There’s no need to necessarily qualify this attitude. Because that’s how they function.
Because they detect the slightest thing, and when needed, immediately reexamine the situation, system, use, process, operating mode, who did (or has done) what and why, and the potential ways for improvement.
It’s automatic.
And neither you nor they can stop it. You have to accept it, embrace it.
You don’t judge a jaguar that wants to hunt an antelope, do you? Well, there are children who think the jaguar is mean, but...
It’s an inherent way of functioning.
