This site is filled with resources and tips to help you make better choices, boost your career, guide your teenager, and much more.
Use the function
The profession is not regulated, and some individuals proclaim themselves as coaches for anything and everything. You cannot afford to be careless, especially when it comes to easily influenced teens or young adults who may lack clarity and critical thinking.
Karim Duval has better understood and defined the issue than many journalists, even those who specialize in it. I invite you to have a laugh:
Do you want to choose a REAL professional coach?
You must, in a rigorous and thorough manner, verify what you are being told. Just because it is a firm with many coaches or an organization with a certain reputation does not mean you will receive the expected quality and service.
Overnight, websites appear presenting coaches with years of experience, teaching, training, or coaching in dozens of different schools... look for tangible elements first.
2 quick tips for independent coaches:
– Check the SIRET via company information sites to find out the creation date of the activity. (You can find my SIRET in the footer of my website)
– Use WHOIS to check the creation date of the coach's or service's website. If you can't find the SIRET, this can provide insight.
Beyond the story you are told:
– Verify the coaching training followed and its content, the coach's diplomas, and their date of obtainment (some coaching training programs grant a diploma after only a few hours).
– Verify their membership in an association, the only guarantee of control over their professionalism, ethics, and deontology (as a dossier verifying many prerequisites is required upon admission).
Unfortunately, some coaches claim to belong to an association when they do not. Only a quick search in the coach directory of these associations via their website will allow you to be sure.
You must look beyond the first impression left by the speech.
Be wary of too many glowing Google reviews. In 15 years of my establishment's presence, I have only received about twenty reviews across my offices in Paris, Biarritz, and Bordeaux. Less than 1 out of 100 clients leave an online review (it's different via email...).
Be aware that some sites offer the purchase of Google reviews...
Be vigilant; the stakes are high, and the potential influence on your life is significant.
